We finally started. Once we began ripping and pulling and sledghammering, we found some surprises. The ceiling at 13 feet revealed another 5 feet and wonderful wooden structures. The sheetrock walls, once down left behind brick columns. Tearing up the rug showed a maple floor. What we are looking for now, given that the previous operation was a jeweler, is a wayward diamond.
